Disclaimer
1. What this site is
Cypress Counsel (the “Site”) is a consolidation of publicly available information about attorneys and law firms, presented for public use.
Listings are compiled from public sources, including but not limited to the Louisiana State Bar Association’s public member directory and the Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board’s public eligibility records. The Site does not create this information and does not independently verify it.
The Site is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board, the Louisiana Supreme Court, or any court, agency, or government body.
2. No endorsement
Nothing on the Site is an independent endorsement, recommendation, referral, or certification of any attorney or law firm. Nothing on the Site is an independent rating or ranking that reflects the views or opinions of the Site, its owners, or its administrators. A listing does not mean the Site has evaluated the attorney’s skill, experience, reputation, or the quality of their work.
The Site may display ratings, rankings, reviews, or similar information that were compiled by other sources from publicly available information, such as Google ratings and reviews. That information comes from those sources and is shown as provided. The Site does not create, verify, or endorse it, and how it was produced and how current it is are determined by the source.
- Unless a page says otherwise, the order of search results is based on your search filters, alphabetical sorting, distance, or random selection. Where a list is ordered by ratings or reviews from another source, that order reflects only that source’s data. It is not the Site’s opinion of quality and is not a measure of quality.
- An attorney’s presence on the Site, or absence from it, says nothing about their ability or standing.
- Practice areas shown are drawn from public and third-party sources. They are not a certification of specialization.
- Display of an attorney’s name, firm, or contact details does not mean the attorney has approved, requested, or reviewed the listing, unless the listing says so.
3. No legal advice and no attorney-client relationship
The Site provides general information only. It is not legal advice, and nothing on it should be treated as legal advice for your situation.
Using the Site, viewing a listing, contacting an attorney whose details appear here, or using the AI assistant does not create an attorney-client relationship between you and the Site’s owners or any attorney. A relationship exists only if an attorney agrees to represent you, usually in a signed written agreement.
- Do not send confidential or time-sensitive information through the Site.
- Legal deadlines can be short. If you have a legal problem, speak with a licensed attorney promptly.
- In an emergency, call 911.
4. Your decision to hire an attorney is yours alone
You are solely responsible for deciding whether to contact, retain, or engage any attorney or law firm. This is true even if you make that decision after viewing an attorney’s information on the Site.
The Site is not a party to any agreement between you and an attorney. It is not responsible for any attorney’s advice, services, fees, conduct, work product, communications, availability, or the outcome of your matter.
Before you hire anyone, do your own research:
- Confirm the attorney’s license and disciplinary status with the Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board and the Louisiana State Bar Association.
- Ask about experience with your type of matter, fees, and costs.
- Get the fee agreement in writing.
Any dispute with an attorney is between you and that attorney.
5. Accuracy, completeness, and currency of information
The information on the Site was collected from public sources on the dates shown and may be outdated, incomplete, or incorrect. This includes names, firms, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, websites, admission dates, practice areas, and eligibility or disciplinary status.
The Site makes no promise that any listing is accurate or current, and it is not a substitute for the official sources.
- An attorney missing from the Site is not necessarily unlicensed.
- A listing on the Site does not prove an attorney is currently eligible to practice. Check the Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board.
- Practice areas come from third-party sources and may be incomplete, dated, or wrong.
To report an error, see Section 11.
6. Advertisements and sponsored content
The Site may contain advertisements, sponsored or featured listings, banners, and other promotional content (together, “Advertisements”). The Site is merely a platform on which Advertisements are displayed.
- Ownership and responsibility. Every Advertisement is the sole property and sole responsibility of the advertising attorney, law firm, or other advertiser.
- No review or approval. The Site does not create, review, edit, verify, approve, or endorse Advertisements. Displaying one is not an endorsement of the advertiser.
- Content. The Site is not responsible for the content, accuracy, truthfulness, completeness, or legality of any Advertisement. This includes claims about results, experience, expertise, or specialization, and any license, registration, or filing number.
- Regulatory compliance. Each advertiser is solely responsible for complying with all laws and professional rules that apply to its advertising, including the Louisiana Rules of Professional Conduct. That covers any required filing with the Louisiana State Bar Association, required disclosures, and registration.
- Your dealings. Any communication, purchase, or engagement between you and an advertiser is solely between you and that advertiser. The Site is not a party to it.
- Third-party ad networks. Advertisements may be delivered by third-party ad services, which may use cookies and similar technologies. The Site does not control their content. See the Privacy Policy.
- Labeling. Sponsored or featured content is marked “Advertisement” or “Sponsored.”
To report an Advertisement you believe is false or inappropriate, see Section 11.
Advertising cookies and similar technologies
When the Site shows Advertisements, the companies that deliver or measure them (ad networks, ad servers, and analytics providers) may place or read cookies, web beacons, pixels, and similar technologies on your browser or device. They may collect information such as your IP address, device and browser type, the pages you view, the ads you see or click, and the date and time. They may use it to show you ads, to measure how ads perform, to limit how often you see an ad, and, in some cases, to show you ads based on your activity across different websites.
- The Site does not control these companies or what they collect, and their use of the information is covered by their own privacy policies.
- Your choices: you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. You can also use industry opt-out tools, such as optout.aboutads.info and networkadvertising.org/choices. Opting out does not stop ads from appearing. It may only make them less relevant to you.
- Blocking cookies may affect how parts of the Site work.
- Do not enter confidential information on any advertiser’s website or form. The Site is not responsible for what an advertiser collects once you leave the Site or contact them.
- See the Privacy Policy for how the Site itself handles information.
7. AI assistant
The Site’s assistant is an automated tool that uses artificial intelligence. It is not a lawyer and does not give legal advice.
- It can be wrong, incomplete, or out of date. Do not rely on it for any legal decision.
- It does not recommend or endorse any attorney, and using it does not create an attorney-client relationship.
- Do not enter confidential or sensitive information, such as case details, the names of other parties, Social Security numbers, medical details, or immigration status.
- Conversations are processed by third-party service providers and may be emailed to the Site’s operator. See the Privacy Policy.
If your situation is serious or urgent, speak with a licensed attorney.
8. Third-party links, reviews, and content
The Site may link to websites and services run by others, and may display third-party content such as reviews. The Site does not control that content and is not responsible for it.
- Reviews and ratings are the opinions of their authors, not of the Site. The Site does not verify them.
- A link or a displayed review is not an endorsement of the linked site, the attorney, or the review.
- Third-party services have their own terms and privacy practices, and may change or become unavailable without notice.
- Review content shown on the Site is provided by the third-party service and used under that service’s terms.
9. No guarantee of results; not a referral service
The Site does not guarantee any result, or that any attorney will accept your matter, respond to you, or be suitable for your needs.
The Site does not choose an attorney for you and does not refer you to a particular attorney. It is a source of public information and a place where Advertisements are displayed.
Nothing on the Site is a solicitation by the Site on behalf of any attorney, except for clearly labeled Advertisements, which are the advertiser’s own communications.
10. Disclaimer of warranties and limitation of liability
The Site and everything on it is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. This includes warranties of accuracy, completeness, availability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
To the fullest extent the law allows, the Site, its owners, operators, officers, employees, contractors, and affiliates are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of money, profits, data, or goodwill. This applies to anything arising from your use of the Site or inability to use it, including:
- reliance on any information on the Site
- any attorney, firm, or advertiser, and any Advertisement
- your decision to contact or retain any attorney
- the AI assistant, and any third-party link, review, or content
Some places do not allow certain exclusions or limits. Where that is so, our liability is limited as far as the law allows.
11. Corrections, removal requests, and contact
If you are an attorney or firm listed on the Site and want a correction or removal, or you want to report an inaccurate Advertisement, email inquiries@cypresscounsel.com. You can also use the claim or correct a listing form. Include:
- your name and firm
- your Louisiana bar roll number, if you have one
- what you want changed or removed, and the page address
- a way for us to confirm you are who you say you are
We will review each request in good faith and aim to reply within seven (7) business days. Removing a listing from the Site does not remove it from the original public sources.
12. Changes, governing law, and short footer version
Changes. We may update this disclaimer at any time. Changes take effect when posted. Your continued use of the Site means you accept the current version. Last updated: October 24, 2026.
Severability. If any part of this disclaimer is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
Governing law. This disclaimer is governed by the laws of the State of Louisiana, and disputes belong in the courts of Lafayette Parish, Louisiana.
