No answer, no contact, no nothing. It’s no way everybody is so busy that they can’t even answer an email! Like these are people family and we just want updates like that’s all. They will be the reason people are kept in jail for months! I just wanted updates on my boyfriend that’s all but hearing nothing is not fair.

I have a court case coming up on 20 January and my assigned lawyer hasn’t even contacted me but sent me a letter that she would I’ve left for her voicemails she hasn’t even reached back out I’ve emailed her and her boss and no one has contacted me. What good is a public defender if they don’t care about your case and you’re just another person on their pile of paperwork

Ms. Madeleine Durbin was incredibly kind, professional, and helpful during a very stressful time for our family. Even though she was not our assigned attorney at the end, she still took the time to answer our questions and offer guidance when we needed it most. We were very anxious throughout the process, and her compassion and clarity made a real difference. We truly wish she had been our attorney, and anyone would be very lucky to have her.

They often pressure individuals with minor non violent cases to take quote plea deals to make their jobs easier for themselves . They are over worked and rather than providing effective council support . The office of the public defender like to cut corners resulting in ridiculous penalties/convictions . It need to stop now enough is enough. Stop criminalizing individual with sufficient disabilities.
