#SHRM23 was outstanding! My only complaint was standing in line for the Janet Jackson concert to get inside to stand for the entire show. She was outstanding! I wish that after the evening events, transportation was moved to the North side of the Convention Center, especially after the concert. I loved the speakers and topics. It was so many good subjects that it was hard to decide. If entertainment wants to change the bag requirements, it should be done before attendees come. I was thankful I could use my conference bag. I don't even have a favorite session. Everyone I attended I gained insight from and met new HR Professionals. Thank you for the bus transportation to and from the hotel. I was thankful I didn't have to get a ride share to and from. All staff and volunteers of SHRM were pleasant. It was an awesome professional development experience. Thank you!

SHRM has lost its value to the HR Community. SHRM has become nothing but a useless organization pushing a political agenda. I will not be renewing my membership this year. Please remove the leadership that has a political bias and get this issue corrected so we can get back to HR.

Ambiguous questions, study materials that don’t truly align with the exam content, and practice tests without clear answers or explanations — it feels like the SHRM exam is intentionally designed to make you fail so they can keep charging retake fees. It’s really frustrating and disappointing. I honestly don’t understand why the SHRM certification holds such a high reputation.

A previous review by Tanya Lakhtina is spot on. Being a SHRM member and taking their certification test are truly only a way for them to make money. Everything is absurdly expensive and the test is an absolute joke. Everything in the test is opinion and not fact based. If you don't know the 'SHRM way of thinking', you will not pass. I received my MBA only a few months prior to taking the test and was very comfortable with Labor Laws, etc. Information that in theory should be included. But no, the entire test was opinion, with most of the scenario based questions having multiple correct answers. Aside from the joke of a test, being a member of SHRM has benefitted me in no way. I had hoped that signing up would help me. But no, they are only out to make money. EVERYTHING has an additional cost. It seems the only thing I can access are brief articles of HR topics. Their job center has at most 3-4 positions posted and in no way helps find a job. Save yourself a very expensive experience and do not waste your time with SHRM. I will not be wasting my time and money by renewing.

I've been a SHRM member for a few years now, and while the organization offers valuable resources, there are several areas that need improvement. Firstly, finding information on certification credits and how to input them, especially for non-webinar activities, is quite challenging. The process is not user-friendly, and it often feels like a scavenger hunt to locate the necessary details. Additionally, the exorbitant cost for their courses, even when you are already a member, is quite frustrating. The yearly renewal fee is already quite high, and the additional charges for various resources and services make it even more expensive. I've also had issues with promo codes. In 2022, I used a promo code for a SHRM bag, but it took 5 months to receive it after multiple follow-ups. This year, I encountered another problem where my shipping address city was incorrectly changed to match my payment address. Despite repeatedly contacting and confirming the correct address with customer service, they only informed me today 1/23/2025 (I renewed 7/2024) that the city had been changed, resulting in me not receiving the promo gift. Overall, while SHRM provides valuable content, the user experience and customer service need significant improvements.
