Yacub Law is an outstanding immigration law firm. Ivan Yacub is not only a dedicated advocate for his clients, but also a tremendous resource to other attorneys in the legal community. He generously shares his knowledge and insight, and his thoughtful, creative legal arguments consistently help push immigration law forward for the benefit of immigrant clients. I highly recommend Ivan and the team at Yacub Law.

I would highly recommend yacub law offices for all your immigration needs. Very professional from staff to the lawyers. Friend of mine recommended them and I’m glad I choose this firm to help with my case.

If I could give zero stars, I would. My aunt transferred her case to this firm hoping for better representation. Unfortunately, that decision turned into a serious mistake. The firm failed to properly prepare her case and showed a consistent lack of communication. My aunt constantly had to call just to get any attention, yet they were very quick to charge fees. Her daughter already had approved SIJ relief. However, the firm failed to properly close out her daughter’s case simply because they did not handle the SIJ portion themselves. As a result, both my aunt and her daughter now have removal orders. The Immigration Judge even stated my aunt was credible but claimed she lacked evidence—evidence that she had already provided. After the hearing, no one from the firm contacted her. She had to call them herself to find out what happened. Given the current immigration climate, this level of neglect is appalling from a firm that claims to help immigrants. When my aunt sought a someone else to file her appeal, she formally requested her complete case file. Attorney Pardo and the firm have refused to provide it. They have failed to release critical documents, including the final IJ removal order and supplemental filings. Instead, they only sent documents my aunt originally brought from a prior attorney, work permit renewals, drafts, and one or two motions at most. Despite signed authorization and repeated requests since Monday, they continue to delay. My aunt has been CC’d on emails where they falsely claim documents were sent or say they will send them—then never do. At one point, they told another party that the case was EROP rather than providing the records directly. Her appeal deadline is approaching, and their refusal to cooperate is actively harming her case. This is not an isolated incident. The same firm did something similar to a relative of my friend—charging for work that was never done. Once she discovered this and requested her file, they attempted to file paperwork only to justify keeping the money. She confirmed with the immigration court that nothing had actually been filed. Due to these serious issues, we will be proceeding with formal bar complaints against both the attorney and the firm. Do not seek services from this office. They have caused real harm to families who trusted them during one of the most vulnerable moments of their lives.

**Updated Review (1 star)** This firm is a textbook example of why it earns so many 1-star reviews: chronically rude, impatient, and disrespectful front desk and support staff who treat potential and past clients with contempt over even basic inquiries. On January 9, 2026, I called to ask about records from a prior paid consultation (August 2024). I received conflicting answers about file existence, invented email addresses, long unnecessary holds, condescending remarks (“be proactive”), accusations that I was “rude” for asking questions, and finally an abrupt hang-up. This mirrors dozens of other reviews describing identical treatment—especially from Spanish-speaking receptionists who talk over callers, yell, refuse information without immediate payment, and hang up. I emailed a polite complaint, recalling a positive past consultation with Ivan Yacub himself. Office manager Karina Yacub replied defensively: denied any attorney-client relationship, insisted staff acted “appropriately,” declared the matter “closed,” and refused to call me. I then posted this honest review. In response, the firm emailed me again—multiple times—despite having just said no further contact would occur. One message was a single line announcing they would “address this matter directly with Google Reviews” (implying an attempt to remove truthful feedback). When I replied that this additional unsolicited contact was unprofessional, they sent yet another brief message: “Same.” This repeated, unnecessary, and defensive contact—after explicitly closing communication—left me no choice but to forward the entire email chain to the oversight bodies for their licensed jurisdictions: - Virginia State Bar (Woodbridge office) - District of Columbia Bar - Maryland Attorney Grievance Commission for review of potential violations of professional conduct rules. The pattern is unmistakable across Google, Yelp, Avvo, and elsewhere: callers and clients report being yelled at, hung up on, blocked, or pressured for money while receiving no help. Now add retaliatory emails to people who leave critical feedback. No apology, no accountability—just denial and escalation. Even reviewers who praise Ivan Yacub personally warn that the staff and management create a toxic, disorganized experience. If basic inquiries and honest reviews are met with this level of rudeness and defensiveness, imagine relying on them for actual representation. Steer clear. The competent attorney is undermined by an incompetent, disrespectful team. 1 star is generous.

This law office is incompetent. The lawyer at this establishment has done a terrible job, preparing my parent for their case . They do not follow through unless you constantly remind them. The lawyer has a terrible attitude and comes off as very rude. They are also too expensive for the subpar service. I do not recommend this place to anyone.
